Orlando Cat Cafe is “paws”ing to celebrate its first year of successful adoptions – 121 to be exact.
You’re invited to the anniversary party 10 a.m. to 6 pm Nov. 10 – coincidentally 1 year, 2 months and 1 day after it opened. Stop in for cake, raffles and some cat love. The event was postponed to this month due to Hurricane Irma’s unwelcome appearance on Sept. 11.
So far, 121 felines found their fur-ever homes since the adorable play center opened its doors Sept. 8, 2016 in the Town Center at Cagan Crossings, nestled in the Four Corners area of Clermont.
Living room-style adoption centers are growing in popularity across the nation, and Orlando Cat Cafe is the first of its kind in Central Florida.
The center is run in partnership with The Animal League and Axum Coffee.
You can peer through the glass window as you sip your coffee or tea from the separate cafe room, or you can pay per hour to bring your drinks and snacks into the 1,000-square-foot Play Room for some fur therapy with a dozen to 15 cuties.
The center also has become a social hub with events like yoga and paint nights with cats.
Orlando Cat Cafe is always in need of volunteers, in case you’re interested.
Now, check our photos of the cats during a recent visit to the center.
We caught them sweetly sleeping, cuddling and playing. As their slogan says, this definitely is “Where the Cool Cats Hangout.”
